Dear Mother

Here is just a line to say I am back at the depot and feeling pretty good too. I sent you a letter from Edinburgh a few days ago and I think I put an address on it for our depot here. I am sending it this time a little more explicit and they will forward letters if I move before I get a reply.

London is not quite so bright as it was two years ago I dont think. The crowds are not nearly so great on the streets and things are not so fast as before. However it is quite a village yet but Scotland gets my eye somehow or other.

Time keeps slipping by and I expect an answer to my landing letter in about three weeks now, That is if they find me I dont think they are as careful with mail as they might be but it cant be helped very well.

Well I will ring off for now and go back to billet and to bed as it is near nine. We had a church parade this morning but the church of England seems a dry service to me. Too much reading out of the books and not enough hard talking.

Will say Bye-Bye for now with lots of love to all.

Your loving son,
Harold
