Dear Harold

I don’t know what you will think of me not writing you sooner but I really thought you would be away and I wanted to let you be well on your way over the herring pond- before writing to your home address. Your writing to Jim has made me change my mind.

I must thank you so much for books and brooch – the books are very interesting just the kind I like, the brooch, well it is past speaking about – just a beauty – it was really far too kind of you to bother about it, yet I can only thank you meantime for everything

I was sorry to hear someone was helping you to dispose of some of your property – one does meet kind people like that when knocking around.

I haven’t been to see ‘Mother’ Ross yet but purpose writing a note to her very soon to say I will pay her a visit

I have been very busy lately – home with the 6.30 every evening – I haven’t been to a picture show since the first week of the New Year – very unusual for me, but don’t worry I mean to make up for it – I hope very soon

There isn’t much news to give you from this quarter – everything as usual is very quiet.

The Gordon Highlander – Miss Young’s friend – is home on draft leave before going to the Rhine.

Jenny and Charlie are at a dancing class at Lennoxtown and it is dancing – dancing every evening.

My brother Willie in France expects to be home any time now – so it will be a lively house then

Well Harold I won’t say more meantime trusting this finds you keeping well and happy and having good news from home.

Kind regards and best wishes
Yours sincerely
Jean

P.S. The photos taken when you were here haven’t been developed yet as I only finished the spool to day so will see how they turn out. I hope when you get your photos taken you won’t forget Antermony.–
