Dear Miss Corcoran –

The following is an extract from a letter, dated the 2nd instant, from Mr. Corcoran in France which was received in the office here today by Mr. Holland –

               "I was slightly wounded over the left
               "eye and just below the left knee about
               "a week ago. I am in the 73 General
               "Hospital at present but will be back
               "with the Battalion in a few weeks. A
               "shell dropped in the trench – the whole
               "bunch got it, all blighties but mine.
              "My left eye has all the colors of the
               "rainbow yet. I can hardly hear at all
               "now but that will be all right in a day 
              "or two."..

No doubt you have received similar information from Mr. Corcoran.

We are very pleased to learn that his wounds are not serious – perhaps it would have been well had his been a 'Blighty' too.

He mentioned some time ago that possibly he might go to England for a commission. We hope he does – it would take them away from the Front for a time – and in the bad weather too.
