Dear Winnie: –

I wrote you several letters during the last month but have not received one from you for a long while.

Everything is going O.K. with me. I am still with the Brigade, working at the typewrite. There was quite a lot of fireworks, which we viewed from a distant hill, all along the German front. I guess you will have read  read all the particulars of the scrap long before this letter reaches you. The Officer who was in charge of the recruiting office was killed some time ago. Both the Sergeants who were there were wounded some months ago.

I suppose you received the little souvenir I mentioned in my last letter is having sent you, through the office. Hoping you are all getting on O.K.

Jack.
