Dear Betts, -

Well here I am again young lady – and I do mean young lady. I had a snap today of you and Mom – and say you sure have grown. Now don't be conceited shrimp but you're a pretty fair looker too!  And I know a good looking gal when I see one – take a gander at Doreen.

Letter #28 & #29 are your two latest ones so when I answer them I'll be right up to date.

You sure travelled around during the summer holidays didn't you? I'll be you are as black as an Indian

Isn't Norm Taylor seeing a lot of the world. About all I've ever seen is the British Isles – oh yes we do manage to get the odd glimpse of Germany, France, Holland & places – but the only catch is – we aren't on a social call. So we aren't greeted very cordially – but its O.K. and I like it.

I just got back from leave a couple of days ago – I was in London for a couple of days – didn't see Ted around – but I'll probably bump into him one of these days.

Had a letter from Toby yesterday. and one from Dick today. Then just before I went on leave I had one from Johnny so I'm keeping in touch with most of the gang.

Yes the news about Mandel really knocked me for a loop too sis – but the trouble with this war is that you have to take the bad with the good.

I hope you are keeping my photograph & clipping album up to date – don't forget now – I'm depending on you.

I wore my civvies all leave, again this time, sure is grand to be yourself again

How about some more pictures of yourself, Mom & Doreen. Let's have 'em!

Yes sir I'm right proud of my baby sister – who has finally conquered the ugly duckling stage. But I still haven't enough photos! So get cracking.

Be seeing you when its all over.

So long for now – I'll write again soon.

Love

Bill.

P.S.: - Try & keep Mom in the best of health & happy. Don't let her worry too much – B.
