Dear Sister,
Received a letter from you the other day. I came here on December 27. This is a big mansion and a very pretty place. It is on a big estate. There is a lake in the back yard or just down the hill. It certainly is fine but very quiet and hard to get around on crutches. I can walk a little without them but have to use a cane but I think I will get nearly OK again. Anyway it will soon be 4 months since I got it. Neil is crazy if he tries to go in the navy. It's worse than the army. I haven't got much to say but I am getting on well and get lots to eat. I haven't heard from Ron. Send me his address.
Your Affec. Bro. Cpl. MacKinnon
