Dear Kid:

Send you another cable to-day as follows - Congrats Are you having any more. - I called on Mr Metcalf yesterday although he wasn't there and saw Mr Mudd and the steno. Found two parcels and a cable there for me. A big round [drawing] can[?] parcel (see photograph) and another from T.M.C.P.L. I left them both there and will take them with me when I go back. The cable was from you & said "many happy returns" so I had to reciprocate and sent you one.

Do not send any more parcels to England as as you know it is much cheaper to send them direct and no more parcels can be forwarded now. They have to be repaid for again. Much obliged for the cake old thing. It looks pretty formidable Whenever I receive a parcel about a day or so late my chances of getting home alive seem pretty slim.

Received a telegram from t-l-d- this morning. He is coming up to-morrow night so I picked out the worse show in town & engaged two front seats. Don't know what he has seen so I picked the Coliseum - . I thought "the Naughty Wife" sounded pretty good but he has very likely seen that. Don't you think so?

I am sending you a couple of copies of a picture of our old squadron at Bailleul in a separate cover (the picture no the sq).

I visited the petrol control board yesterday and got my meat card and managed to sneak in two extra coupons. I have 26 coupons for 13 days and the civies are only allowed 4 a week. (I see where Max & I have a bust on the 16) I am also entitled to ½ lb of butter. The meat coupons are like this - [drawing]. Just common paper & the illustration is life size. You see on the bill of fare.

"Moutons des agneaux" - ½ coupon. And you ought to see some of these people go wild if the waitress happens to snip of a whole coupon instead - It's a great war.

I just bough a new spring for the gramophone the old one bust itself the other day. I hope I have the right size.
