Dear Kid:

Had had no mail from you while on leave but got back here on Tuesday last and found some waiting for me. I have received 51 - two 42s and one 43. Also a parcel blew in to-day which was mailed on the 8 Jan containing Mrs Langberys[?] sox etc and cake & fudge &choc. I am afraid old boy that I shall henceforth have to refuse all offers of sox as I am not a centipede. Please hold them until called for

Max came up to town the day before I left and we went to a show in the evening Pretty dud. He looks O.K. and I think, is behaving himself quite well. Apparently he is getting on O.K. and expects to get out here before the war is over

I am glad that you finally got my cable straight. I sent it when I was at rouen at least I mailed it from there and it was cabled from London. I am writing this from the same room I lan[?] in on 17 Nov last we moved back here the day I returned from leave.

You asked me how your parcels keep and what I want. The Christie biscuits certainly get by. We could stand more of them, also the fudge and choc. I am sorry to say that your small cakes do not keep very well also I have plenty of sugar now. A pound of Laura Secord might come in handy occasionally. More papers would get by and you might also send me a Ppost. I notice that you sent this last parcel thru Metcalf again. You can send everything direct to 19 Sqd as I will get it O.K.

I believe I have received every parcel that has been send to me with the exception of one registered parcel that Metcalf says he forwarded. I do not know who sent it but if it was you you had better put in a claim for it.

I was out several times with Wait while I was in town

Am all balled up in my numbers but will try to figure them out later on.
