Dear Mother-

Just a line or two hoping you are all well and getting on fine. Things are going OK with me here, and we are getting some lovely weather just now, which is generally the main thing towards making things pleasant anywhere, isn't it? I had a letter from Starston the other day, and Uncle says that they are all doing fine, and that Aunt Jessie is just about well again. I don't hear so very often from Sheffield, but then you know they are a lot busier there, and are not able to write very much. Well I don't think anyone can be any worse than me at it, do you think? But I always try to get yours away every week so you know how I am, even if there isn't much news to tell you. George Wright is back again with his Batt, after being away for a short time with a slight wound. Don't you think I'm lucky to have steered clear of those kind of things? I had a letter from Swan yesterday and a picture from two of the girls. It must be pretty quiet from their description of things, and I suppose it will be in our town too. Well Mother dear, I'll close now with best, love to you all, from your loving Son,

Frank.
