Dear Mother¬

Many thanks for your last welcome letter. I am just writing to say I'm getting along fine and hoping that this will find you all in the best of health, and that the harvest is turning out fine, for I know that you will be busy with it now and your garden too. Things look like Canada again here, as they are cutting grain here and getting in fruit. I'm out on rest now, so it's a nice change to be out of range and wondering where the next will drop. I'm with the Batt now, so I've a different address again. It is just 16th Batt. It's good to belong to something anyway, not to mention being a fighting man, eh? Well mother, things are not so bad here, and I like it fine. So don't worry. The war will soon be over, so bye for this time, with best love to all from your loving Son,

I'll write more next time.

Frank.
