Dear Mother, Father, and brothers and Sister,

I am sending my Xmas cards off today to catch the last mail boat before Xmas I got some cards down at Folkestone and am sending them to Aunt [?] and the rest of them I haven't got a letter from you this week but the Canadian mail comes in today and I expect one. It is rather chilly here today. Tell Father and Frank that they will have to wait a little while for that pound I said I would send them as I'm a little short at present and payday won't be for a week yet and then we will get 6 pounds. I got a letter from Aunt [?] and a Xmas card from the Lawson family. Though I would have got one from you today but I guess it will come tomorrow. I sent you a picture that I got taken at Leeds didn't I. I was thinking this morning whether I had or not because I have only two left. Wishing you all a Merry Xmas and Happy New Year.

Your loving son,
Jim.
