Dear Mother:-

Just a few lines to let you know I received your letter of Nov 4th also the picture and was very glad, to hear from you I see Rod. standing behind you training his mustache. We are having good weather here fine and warm.

I am going to have an operation on my leg tomorrow its not a serious one so don't worry. I won't be sorry when I get that parcel as we only get about half enough to eat and then its about fit for pigs.

Well I must close as I have no news hoping youa re all well.
