Dear Mother

Thank you for your letters, we are having a very heavy Thunderstorm just now, at least it has just passed over the Camp, with very heavy rain. I am getting my Parcels very regulary now 2 a week. I had a very nice one yesterday with Bacon in it quite a lot.

I havent heard from maggie for some time, I expect they are very busy farming now. I started to study German a week ago, I havent made much progress yet, though. but it helps to pass the Time away.

We have been having lovely weather here lately, very warm.

A year ago today I was Captured it doesnt seem like a year although the time seems to go so slowly.

I had a letter from a Miss Hein at Drayton a few days ago, wishing me all kind of good luck. How are the Warshams now I havent heard of them for some time, give them my kindest regards. Well I hope it wont be long before I can come Home it is nearly two years now I've been away.

I hope that the boys are all well, & that the dont have to work to hard, do they ever get tie to play Tennis now.

We have just been out to be counted, we are counted twice a day, night & morning.

I hope that Emmy & Joan are well. give my love to both give my love to the Boys & Sadie

your loving Son.
