Dear Mother:-

We are out of the line again for rest. While we were in this time I received two letters and two parcels from you and they came in very good. To-night I got a letter from Art. He O.K. and for the last three nights have received a parcel on Sunday Worlds from Grace. We were also paid twenty francs to-day so I am not doing so bad but still I am looking forward for those Christmas boxes from home. I suppose by this time you are all settled in your new house. It will be so much better now that everybody is at home. You ask about Roy. He is with the first battalion but in a different company but I see him quite often just the same. The nights are getting quite cold out here now but we have been issued with another blanket so it is not so bad. You had better send socks quite often as we do not get a chance to wash them and have to throw away when they get too dirty and wet. To-night I bought some apples. They are not first class but taste good just the same. You had better not send apples mother as they rot before they arrive and spoil other stuff in the box. You have been addressing my mail to C Coy and that makes it a little longer to wait. Don't forget that I am in B Coy and don't bother addressing it to the army P.O. but just put on Pte.J.B. Moyer #201076, B Coy, 1st Battalion, Canadians, France. I will try and write to Violet and Grace in a couple of days. Is Bruce still going to school, and how is he getting on and Elsie and Jessie and young Art.

I will close now with love to all from your loving son,
Jay
