Dear Mother:-

I've been away on leave for 10 days so that's why my letters will miss a week or two. I've been back a couple of days. When I got all my mail there was one from you of Nov 29 with a parcel, also a parcel from Aunt Jessie and a long letter from Aunt Ethel.

I left the battalion on the 19th and was in London on the 20th, went down to see Jack on the 21st. Next day we went to see Mr. Adams and stayed over with him. Went down to see Mrs. Baron on the 23rd. She's a fine woman and reminded me a lot of you. We stayed that night again with Mr. Adams and next day went to see Mr. Morris. From there to Prescott Row's, staying with him over Xmas and in the meantime visited Mrs. Thornbury, Mrs. Pearson, Mrs. Martin and Mrs. Gross, all relations of Grandpa Row. Just before coming back saw Granny Adams.

We had a fine time at every place and we sure appreciated it, son you can imagine what it was like to come back here again.

Frank is here in B Company, was in for Xmas. I haven't heard from Dad lately but I suppose he'll have leave soon. Well Mother I'll close, thanking you for the lovely parcel and God bless you.
