Dear Alfred,

I hope this finds you much improved in health. I have just returned from the Convention held in Longview Wash. This morning and I am a wee bit weary. We had a very nice convention and it was very inspiring, It is a very pretty town and they sure can grow things. We had a bandquet and there were about two hundred there, all was so injoyable, we received a ride down there over the highway with of the Lutheran ministers, it was so much nicer than riding in a bus or train, one does not see much when you ride bus as you go so fast. We have a new lady staying with us now, her name is Mrs. Grahame and she is about my age, she works out all day so is only here at nights Mrs. Winterburn has gone to keep house for her son who lost his wife. I saw the Columbia river while I was on my journey. I guess you have seen much larger rivers than the Columbia, but this is my first venture away in that direction. [?] kept house for Freds while I was away, and what do you think baby Brian learned to creep, as I had quite a big surprise when I got back, now he is into everything and gets so dirty. I brought them back a [?] of stickings, each, baby Brian sure is a darling, hope he walks by Xmas.

We are expecting Morris home for a couple of days from Vernon, I have a few jobs lined up for him to do. Well son I will close and try catch to post, and I am very tired, but I ask again in closing would you get some one to write for you, just a line to let me know how you are, please do I am anxiously awaiting to hear from you. with all our love and best wishes for a speedy recovery. love Mother.
