Dear Mother.

I have received so many letters the last few days do not hardly know where to start from. I have in front of me yours of Oct 21 (38) Nov. 5 (39) Nov. 7 (40 and just got one of Nov. 24th (42) a few minutes ago, also Muriels of Oct 23. Besides that there are three or four from Aunt Mabel and a few from Winnipeg, and two from an old girl who is married and lives in the states, so there is one of my girls gone out of my clutches. There was quite a while I got none of your letters so thought that you had all got the flu and I guess I was pretty nearly correct. I have got a couple of parcels from Aunt Mabel and one from Miss McEwan so far and by the way things are going will be able to get all my Xmas parcels before I leave. I have been here two weeks now waiting for my board but seem to have lost my papers or else they have not yet turned up and cannot get the board until they do come. There are hundreds of us sticking around here counting our fingers and just waiting so goodness knows how long it will be before I even get a start as after we get our board there is a couple of places to go through and have to wait our turn but the A men are getting home much faster than we are and will have them pretty well cleaned out by the time we all get fixed up and category men are supposed to go home first. They took my pay book away from me and do not know if I will be able to ring in on the Christmas leave and do not care much for if I do not go will have all the more money when I get home and will take quite a lot to get fitted up in clothes again the way the price is now. The doctor wanted to send me back to hospital today but would not go. I am having trouble with my gall & liver again and have hardly eaten anything for three or four days only bread and get a few buns at the canteen. I seem to get sickly for a couple of hours after each time I eat anything but sometimes it only last about half that time but am talking some dope the doctor is giving me. By the time you get this should have made a start a least so there will be no use the write again until you here diffenetely from me as it will be nearly two months before I would get the answer to this back and only would be chasing me back. Hope that this finds everybody over the flu and have had a pleasant Xmas at it will be in the new Year when you get this Love to all & compliments of the season to all.

Your loving son

Gordon
