revellie 6.30 Breakfast 7am rather dull morning. we had eggs and bacon. lettuce & whisbangs for breakfast still on pack guard. strawberries. order changed moved back to old Church at Villers 8.30Pm

revellie 6.30 Breakfast 7am went for rations with Mercier another man Air battle about 11.30 got letter from George and Gordon. fine day. fine day & evening air battle 8.15Pm

Tuesday, July 3rd, 1917

revellie 6.30 Breakfast 7am fine morning went for rations with Mercier went for a bath 2Pm & got clean clothes & put on cheescloth suit. feel fine. lovely evening. air battle about 8.30Pm first new potatoes

revellie 6.30 Breakfast 7am rained nearly all night went for rations got 7 letters & 2 papers. June 6 & 9th Louies 2 letters dated June 3rd & 10th Mothers 2 June 3rd and 10th Annies 1 June 14th. Aunt Annies 3rd and 10th rather dull. Mother sent 15 frs in registered letter

revellie 6.30 Breakfast 7am very dull & cool. went for rations to transport lines. on guard at Church wrote letters to Louie and Mother sent silk cards inside. very cool evening got colours for Vimy Ridge

revellie 6.30 Breakfast 7am went for rations. got Parcel from Annie dated June 9/17 wrote letters to Aunt Annie & Annie thanked her for parcel. terrible air battle 12.30Pm fine day

1070 day of great war revellie 6.30 Breakfast 7am rained pretty hard nearly all night went for rations got a letter from Mother dated June 21/17. very muddy & cool weather tasted first Champagne & new tomatoes
