My dear Fern:

Nothing much to talk about to-day except the weather which is dud as usual.

I will not be able to get down to London this week-end so will probably miss Max. I wired the little devil to-night telling him that I would not be down until Monday or Tuesday at the earliest.

Have pretty well cleaned out the box you sent. Everything was in fine shape. Glad you sent the sugar. It will come in very handy.

How is Dad getting along I hope he is getting well again and will have sense enough to take it easy henceforth. Mr Metcalfe says he has received a letter from him. I hope Grannie is feeling better and for goodness' sake take care of yourself or they would be out of luck.

I did not do five hours on Pups as intended. Went up this morning in a Bristol Scout (my first time in it) and made a peach of a landing so that the O.C. said I could quit Pups now and go on Spads. I wish now I had not done quite so good as he says I don't need any more time on a Pup. I wanted more time and I also wanted to fly Camels but apparently I'll have to fly Spads and not Camels as I thought.

Love to all,

Gord
