Letter

'Just a few lines,' writes Gunner Sydney Reay, from France, on January 9th, to a member of The World staff,' to let you know that I am still in the living list. It seems ages since I have heard from you, but I guess your mail has been lost like a lot of other mail. Would you mind thanking the Methodist Church ladies for their lovely Christmas box I received it only a couple of days ago, but should not find any other name than from the Methodist Church, Cobourg, so do not know whom to write to thank. It sure was a fine box and contents were dandy, too. They were very kind. Everything is just the same over here and there is nothing new at all to tell you and news out here is very scarce anyway. We had quite a time on Christmas day and also had a dandy dinner, lots to eat, so taking it all together we were O.K. I suppose that you hear from home once in a while. The last letter that I had, told me all was well. Now I must close. I hope all friends in Cobourg are well, as this leaves me at present, and I wish all a bright and prosperous New Year.
