Dearest Marguerite Don. Stan. Jack & Bruce.
I am having a few hours this afternoon so will write you a little letter. was shooting to day. down a big hill across the road. saw a little bunch of goats. white and black ones and one brown. this afternoon we had to mop our hut and scrub the bed boards. I worked at the boards. it did not take long next week we go and live in tents some place and shoot at big white boards with a black spot about the size of this paper in the middle about as far away as your house is from the School. well how did you like School again Marguerite you write as good as I do. you will soon write as good as your Mother try and help each other in spelling & other lessons. be good to one another I suppose you think I write a terrable lot of letters to you but I miss you terrably. wish I had been better and more good to you all. so when you are together be good to one another. I have got to go up to the laundry I do a lot of my own but had some undercloths. some fellows try to get theirs white and they make them black look as if they would never get clean. my spot in the hut has to be kept swept tick tolled up blanket folded with cover over top shoes in a row on the bed towel laying on top of cover pack on nail shirts and swetter pants folded up on the of shelf I put my knife fork & spoon under them & shaving outfit soap and other little things. I could not sleep very much last night was looking out of the window about the time you would be going to bed. I was thinking of the little song Mother sings. I dream about you which makes me feel glad well goodbye my darlings
