Hello Ann

I am again at this dear old spot - this time only for ten days to be enoculated before pushing off somewhere in active service.

I finished my [?] at Eastchurch yesterday. They make quite a thing of this enoculation, keeping you in bed 48 hrs & a lot of foolishness.

I can't tell you where I am to go as they have not let me know, but it is a long way off from what I can gather from other sources.

I am very pleased and especially as Anderson one of the boys I came over with in the old New York is the only other officer going that I know of. It is something very new and a long way from good [?] air [?]from what I gather, only the winters are very cold if it's the place I think it is. So try and figure where it is?

Will write you more news as I get it but thought I had better let you know as they rush us about with no warning whatever.

Walter Lawson was at Eastchurch instructing. You remember Papa had quite a lot to do with his father as he was sec. of the old Columbus mines. He was very good to me & helped in more ways than one in getting this appointment.

Pete.

P.S. don't be afraid of the raids. If the engine bangs out, we get back O.K. as the Anti-Air very seldom get us and the huns have the wind up.
