Dear Sister:

Well I am out west at last. I had a pretty good trip coming out. I was only three days on the road.

I suppose you are coming on pretty well at school , and your music also. There are some funny houses and barns up here. The house we are living in up here in half sod and half lumber. I wish I had a camera and I would send you a view of it. There is still some snow left up here, but not enough for sleighing. There is a great old wind storm raging outside just now. A person would soon get lost if they were out in it now.

You asked me the names of the colts I broke in this winter. Their names are Charles & Prince. I told you in the card I sent you I did not go to see Aunt Frank. Well I did not go up to Kingston until (over) Monday fore noon. When I got up there I found out my train went out at 1 pm. And it was twelve o'clock when I got the horses in the livery barn. I would have stayed over until the next train, but my ticket was only good until Wednesday night so you see it was impossible. I am going to write to Aunt Frank and Uncle Cam tonight also. It is about 8:30 o'clock and I have just got in from work. I have to get up at six o'clock in the morning so you see I am kept pretty busy. I do not think I will stay up here next winter, as there is not much doing in the winter in the work line. I guess this will be my last trip to the West. Well I will close hoping you will answer soon.

Ever you loving brother

Don
