My dear George
Many thanks for Birthday wishes. It was so nice to know you remembered. Your letter arrived on the 21st so it was nearly in time. Edie gave me Black Silk for a dress (for her wedding), Nora two very nice initialed hanks & she is going to buy me a spring hat, too. Ernie gave me a lovely box of chocolates; Helen & Eva a nice hug me tight & I had such nice cards from Mrs. Swann, Mabel, Mrs. Campbell, Margaret & Lil, Nora, Helen, Eva & Zeta. Fancy getting 9 cards! Edie says she wrote & told you about Gordon getting home last Saturday night. He & Ruby are going to her home to-morrow, so I expect they will be married then. I suppose it will be Edie's turn next. I wonder where you & I will live when the house is sold - in
a nice little flat I hope. Of course I would rather keep the house but when one gets to 64 years of age it comes rather hard. Edie received a nice long letter from Alex this afternoon. He had a nice trip to Cologne. They expect to be in England next month, then on to Canada. We saw Nellie at church on Sunday & she said Zeta had a letter from Dan on Saturday & he thought he would soon be home. We keep watching the papers for your name. Here's hoping we soon see it. Won't we be glad when we do. There is some talk of trains going to the Exhibition soon, so perhaps by the time your train comes that is where we shall meet you. The North Toronto Station is very nice but such a long way to go. Am afraid my letters are not very good lately as when I'm writing I imagine you are on the ocean & that I shall see you in a few days. Trusting that you are quite well & that we may soon see your dear face.
