Dear Mom and Dad,

Well, I've moved again as you can see by the address. This will be my home for at least two months. I'll finish my first leg of training here. I have an hour to waste before going up flying, and I was thinking of all you folks at home, so I'm not wasting time writing to you. I wish I could be there to enjoy the stuff out of your garden. The food over here is awful. I sure miss your cooking. I could never settle down here to live.

Ray said he won't be finished his course for a year yet. Well, I'm sure the war will be over by the end of this year. Then it won't take long to clean the Japs out. By this time next year we'll have forgotten all about this. I have got into the habit of saying prayers now and it gives me a feeling of peace. This game changes a person. I have seen quite a lot and I realize the Lord is going to spare me. I have too much to live for when I get home.

I am looking forward to getting that parcel, it will get a royal welcome. I'll send you some snaps when I get some taken, and I'll also send you copy of the poems I've written.

Ray was disappointed at not getting his leave, but he will get used to having his plans going haywire in this outfit. Plenty of mine have gone with the wind. I will have to cut this letter short as the time is getting on. Please write lots. I need letters so bad. They bring you closer to me.

So long for a while and lots of love and kisses,

Your everloving son, Ted
