Somewhere in France

March 27th. 1918

My Dear Father & Mother:

Just a short line to let you know that everything is going on O.K. I have received no mail since I wrote you my last letter except one from May to say that Robert is over here with the 13th. Batt. he had to reduce to the rank of Capt. to come over - I have not seen him yet & I will not be able to for some time as we have to work at our trade now instead of building roads!

I was going to write you a letter Monday night but was warned for a 3 A.M. job so I went to bed instead.

I suppose you are reading with interest what is happening over here - I wish we could get the knews ourselves all we get is practically all rumors & you know what they are - of course we can usually get an English paper but just when we want them there are none to be had.

Well please excuse this letter as it is awful short however it is better than no news at all & perhaps for a couple of weeks or so no news is good news - however I will always do my best to write you.

With love & best wishes

for all from Bill
