Dear Mary & kiddies

I will write or talk to you which is just the nicest thing I can do these days. hope you do not mind so many letters coming through the P.O. for you are my great comfort. I have put in an most awful Ha Ha night & day over this stale it was as muuch as the 3 together in Brantford the Mrs. O told me it was for a different cause than thoes others I tosed & grunted all night I saw a light go by the end of the hut during the night so I hit the door a great bang with me shoe thought he whould come in. they were very busy with other fellows some they took outdoors on ticks their fever was so high. the boys had a great laugh about me thoughing my shoe at the door have not shaved to day we did not have any drill i will try and shave tomorrow morning I have lost me strap in London forgot to take it down in the wash room after shaving but their are lots of boys with one. We saw one baloon & a plain go over to day. I was talking with Geo Davison this morning he said his folks did not say anything about you so I guess you are well. had a walk around with young Gillen he is sick of the army I have heard more fellows talking against the army this week than ever before. the way they are paying us is rotten. each one will be given a book marked what what is coming to us. if you have only $13 in it you can just draw $1 if you have $20 in it you can draw $5 if you have $40 you can get $20. & the food is terrable boil tea in a big greasy iron pot. the rice never cooked or sweetened. but I am going to rough it through. we see a soldier funeral most every day. very solemn prosession very slow fine music. there are nanny goats around here. I noticed one tied to the M.Ps hut. over night it was a big milker. tits as large as a cows. it is fawn color. quite a few at cottages about. I saw a nice bunch of deer at a big mans farm not far from the camp. these poor talks are not very smooth some what erking. there is a man speaking on the good Samaritan just now. Gillen wants me to go to Irland with him & then go over to U.S.A from their We get a free ticket when we have been here 3 months so if we had about $50 each we could get alonge Ha Ha well I think this will have to do I do not know if I will post this or not havnt stamp
