My Dearest

I was so pleased to receive your dear letter yesterday. I have felt very sorry ever since sending my last letter because I am certain it would not reach you before you left for Bridlington. But I had only just got to know that my name had gone in for leave a few minutes before writing & I was rather excited just then to think that I would soon be seeing you. Perhaps you would think by the way I wrote that I would be following the letter up in two or three days. Unfortunately, leave has been stopped for a few days for some reason, & you can imagine how miserable it made me feel. However it started again yesterday & two of our fellows went this morning, so one of the next three warrants to come through will be for me.

Dearest you don't know how impatient I am to get away, it must be pretty soon now. I cannot tell you when, but just as soon as I land in England I will let you know. I cannot think of any other subject just now so

Bye-bye Dearest for the present
Lots & lots & lots of love & xxxxxxxxxxxx
from Yours only & forever
Fred
