Dear Jessie:

Received your letter yesterday was sure glad to hear from you. I got the two one written Aug 25 and 29. we are of the line for a while we were not in the last big push. I am glad to hear that the [?] boys were wounded we heard that one of them was missing glad he turned up.

You say Ellen sent me a small box of eatables. I sure will be glad to get it. She is very good to us as you say. you say you wish you could cook don't you worry about that don't think of sending me cake or anything like it.

Hope you went to Hfx [?] and had a good time if you ever want any money get it from Father and tell him to take it off of my cheque.

So Violet Prest is through hope she makes good at the V.G. I though she was going to come over seas. I saw some U.S. troops yesterday.

Glad to hear that [?] is better. I guess every body will have a car soon will they not? Suppose you drive Fathers. Paul Gass's family has done their part surely in this war.

Well there is not much to write about the wether is quite fine hope it last for a while longer. it makes it pretty rotton in the trenches when it rains I saw Spence night before last he is on a course. Well I guess I will stop for this time

With Lots of Love to all
Aff Bro D.
