My Dearest

Thanks so much for your dear letter received this morning. Dearest it would be lovely if you could get your leave for Christmas because it would not be a bit nice if you had it before & had to return just about Christmas. I am just longing to see you but I would be patient knowing you were in England if they kept you there for a long time but then I would be coming down.

Did you hear anything of the raid on London? I hope there was not much damage done, there were about 12 searchlights playing in the sky when we were coming home, they did look wierd, it is a lovely night for zepps but we do not want them.

I have been to Bentley Council Offices nearly all afternoon, I have occasionally to go to the Civil Registration people & Bentley is the one I like least.

I do hope all will go well with Canada, it is quite a time before we shall know the results of the polling.

We have not heard anymore of Legay, I wonder how he likes being fast over there. Did I tell you that Donald had returned a month overdue, he is now in Scotland, he is awfully lucky & fancies himself no end.

Jack has had his photograph taken & asks us to be sparing in our criticism, & course we were, my Aunt at Irton wants one of yours, so I think I will get 1/2 doz like Millie's & mine taken from the one you had taken at Folkstone, or would you rather be taken again?

Well Good-night Dearest, hope I shall receive another precious letter ever so soon.
