Dear Chrissie

I recieved your kind letter last night and I am sorry you have not got a letter from me for so long so you see I am not keeping you waiting long for an answer Well Chrissie I think you must have seen Vic [Crockett?] as he has seen you he told me in his last letter that you were at Upney hospital no doubt you do not know him as I think he is about 6 ft tall and he used to be kind of bashful and if he did see you he would be to backward to make hiself intimate you cannot help but have seen him some time as he lives in the secoand house from where I presume your Cottages are. And he works all day in that field right opposite your cottages where that big Mulberry tree is. And you would do me a great favour by making yourself friendly to him any time you should see him no matter how rough and dirty his clothes are alongside your neat uniform because I wear rough and dirty Clothes when I am working and my estimation of any one who turns up their nose at my rough appearence is very little Vic is my special friend and I would be glad I you would speak to him to cheer him up as his is a kind of a dull life.

Well Chrissie I am glad to hear that Arthur is safe and sound and I hope he will come through all-right.

Well Chrissie we did not have a good harvest this year as about the middle of August we had a severe frost which damaged the grain considerable. Yes Chrissie we had Thanksgiving services at our Church and a Thankgiving social and I realised £5 and took up a subscription for a new Church and got £25 and they are building it now. A lady and I are getting up a concert for to aid the Red Cross I will write and let you know how it comes off Well Chrissie I am going to enlist after Christmas as I think it is my duty as I have no dependants and it is necesary for us all to do our bit if we are not to be beaten and come under German power Well Dear I think this is all at present so I will Close hoping this will find you in the best of health as I am pleased to say it leaves me

I remain
Your Everloving Bro
