Dear Elsie,

Just a short letter tonight. The School is going just the same these days.

To-day has been quite interesting, as we spent most of the time with the Lewis gun. In the morning we did some firing with it.

Yesterday we had the second of our seven exams. The third comes tomorrow, and the fourth either Saturday or Monday.

To-day our Battalion received orders to move to Seaford. Seaford is on the coast quite near Brighton. My course at Hythe does not end till March the 3rd and the Battalion goes on the 2nd. So I’ll have to trail along a bit late.

I haven’t been downtown yet this week, but may go down on Saturday.

Had another letter from Cousin Mina yesterday.

Well, I’d better close now and get to work.

Your loving brother,
Grant D Mowat.
