Dear Eira,-

We have just received some rotten news which will shock you as it shocked us, Leonard my brother was killed in Germany either last Friday or Sat. Jennie his wife phoned us from Toronto where she works.

So the Davies family have had their share of heartaches through this war.

I’m not going to write anymore to-day, but I knew you’d like to know.
