Eastbourne 20/7/17.

Dear Dad,

I am enclosing a few snaps of which you must take good care, as they cannot be duplicated. I have done nothing about a camera as yet because it is extremely hard to get what I want, here at present.

There has been very little mail in lately but I have one from you dated June 24th. And before I forget, must tell you about young Faris. This morning, someone at the door hollered hello Davis & I did not know him, so went over to see who it was. He is taller & fat, looks fine & is the one who came over with the 2nd battalion, I think, or around that time. He is in fine shape & is here for discharge to his lines, I suppose.

Sure sorry Mir is losing weight, & hope by this time that she is home or holidays. Wish I could get over for a few myself.

We have new potatoes all the time & had a good feed of tomatos the other night. I bought a pound of raspberries & they sure are good, very large & sweet. This seems to be a very good fruit country.

Ebony etc should be a good buy, as these lines are very scarce now. There are a good many things very hard to get here, even commonly used things. Lead pencils are quite plentiful, but paper getting scarcer.

Be sure & send all the matter you can, re that article, as I would like to know what they have to say about it. I did not sign your name but the Optical Editor, I forget his name, put it in that way. Anything interesting in the Trader I would be glad to have too.

Glad Auto shops are moving, keep at it. I like mine as well as ever.

Your affectionate son,
Worth.
