Thursday Eve:

Dear Mother and All,

I received letter to-night and immediately went to Post Office and got my parcel all right, Thanks.

I was on guard and loading transports from 6 P.M. yesterday till 11 A.M. to day. Had very little sleep. Reported 2 P.M. and got the afternoon off to finish up my business. Got drafts all right and do not start sending money till I tell you to. I am taking Royal Bank Drafts #97570 and 97571 for £5/0/0 each. In case anything happens that I am unable to cash these, you can get a refund. They are of course payable to me. I am also taking £ 3/0/0 in currency, besides some Canadian money.

[Ireinnie?] and two girl friends were up to our field day this week and will likely be up to-morrow noon.

I am sending home puttees, underware, etc. which I will want later, will write for them tho, then I find out, what conditions are there. I am well, but have little “gone” feeling to-night but must like you be brave.

I am going to run down to Dick’s and Uncles for a few minutes before I finish packing so will write more of this later.

I will also try to write again before leaving but they may hold it up. It will likely be nearly a week before we sail, but I will cable you and Floss, at the earliest possible moment. Good-bye just now.

Well I am packed. You may be surprised at some of the things I am sending back, but I really cannot get them in. I will have such as I can, sent me later.

My Fountain pen, has not come from Montreal forward it when it arrives to my English address.

Going to bed (11.30) will finish in the morning.

It is not 7.30 A.M. and I have just finished packing the club bag. Will express it on the way down. I feel better this morning, not tired at all, slept well. Will probably be in Toronto to-night for an hour or two. We, I believe connect there with a special from Borden, carrying the 129th Batn.

Now as troops have been as long as two weeks in Halifax, don’t worry if you do not hear from me, soon, but will cable at earliest possible moment.

Am taking a “Redie” cloth for my buttons, it has the polish right in the cloth so saves carrying so much

Goodbye all,
Lovingly,
Worth.

Keep passes for souvenirs.
