Dear Dad,

I thought I sent 83 to Nerta, but my book says Miriam altho I think it is wrong. We have had another mail in lately and yours of June 9th, has been in for some time.

Got Kim’s announcement the other day, he rather slipped one over Eh? Rather rotten about the rings, but the other fellow is a pretty good customer and you got the big one. Would not be surprised if Harry put it up to him, either.

Floss tells me that silver is up again, so suppose it is up with you too. That bowl will be O.K. Have Nert give you a cheque for same. Am also drawing one here, in favor of Corp. Andrews for almost $2500. It will not be presented for a couple of months tho, when he is going home. Got a nice little chatelaine “puff” box for Floss in French enamel on Silv. gilt, Ivory, plain enamel back and front edge with front scene with stream on front centre 35.00 ₣. It is mighty fine work. Sending it to Blighty to be engraved, and will then send it on.

I did not know that Vas was within less than twenty miles of here, I may be able to get some first hand news of his wounds before I post this if so will add a P.S. He went where we were supposed to go, but we were sent here instead. A chap who was down there told me that their town was gas shelled for three weeks, and that was the reason they moved to what was supposed to be a “safe” area and I suppose therefore not as well protected as we are. It proved otherwise tho goodness knows where he is now. I will likely find out in time tho. Hope he is back on duty again, after his experiences.

Those tires you got seem mighty cheap under present conditions. Hope they pan out well, I think tho you will have to go some to beat that Goodyear large diamond or the Pullman.

Well Nert. will be back now, lucky beggar. Tell her to be good and write often.

Hope Frank gets along all right in his new venture. Are they not calling up his class? They soon will be, I think.

Our Sisters are getting leave now but no sign of own yet. We should worry tho as I think it would only seem worse after leave. Love to all.

Your affectionate son,
Worth

P.S. No very definite news re Vas, but wound very slight. Will find out more later.
W.D.
