We have now been in camp several days and are settled fairly well except for the gun equipment. Yesterday, Mr. Craig and I went down with ten teams to Amesbury, the same place from which we marched in, and sorted our guns out from the terrible mess of equipment in the station yard. I have never seen such an awful jumble of guns, waggons, wheels and harness before. We had lunch, fed the horses and packed our own vehicles, getting a pole here and there, and removing rows of waggons to get out one poor innocent little gun limber.

We hooked in at 4.15 and arrived in camp at 8.30, stopping on the way to water the teams. It rained, in relays all day, and the roads were firm but very "splashy".
