Visited Canterbury & had a great day with Lft. Johnson, Duff & Wilson. The bell of Canterbury is at the County Hotel.

Got orders to report to A.D.M.S. London area. On the whole I had a great time with the CETD at Pond Hill Camp. The officers were good fellows. Here I met Lft Lindsay of Victoria, Lft Duff, Johnson, Johnston, Wilson, Taylor, Golwyn, Col Houliston, O.C., Col. Harrison. Capt. Gilroy (dentist), Major Russell, Lft Gregory, Lines, Haggerty. Major Jost of the 64th replaced me.
July 14, 1916
Reported at Bearwood, Can. Conv. Hospital for duty. Here I again met Capt Bennett, also Capt Corbett. I have great quarters here. The estate is about 8,000 acres & the immediate grounds form a beautiful park. The mansion is very large. We have 800 patients, 5 M.O.’s & 5 Sisters. The O.C. is Major Woodhouse, a very fine chap. Capt Brothers is also here from the Prairies. Chaplin is Major Bayley, a jolly fellow & a good sport. We are kept very busy & are often wanted 3 or 4 places at the same time.

Went canoeing at Reading on the Thames with Miss Anderson of Wokingham. She is a V.A.D. & a good sport.
