Dear Mother and Dad,

Whew, what a day. The heat is really turned on today I hate to think what it will be like in summer. We change to white fronts tomorrow which will be better. We are wearing white caps now.

I was on sentry duty in our dormitory from 2 to 4 last night. It is the worst time you can get, but there was a cat that helped me pass the time. I studied some Morse too. I was lying down taking it easy when the officer of the watch came in. I jumped up and said. “V.S.5 all correct sir.” He said good and went on. We have to be careful
