Rev. 6:00. Rations in battery are about double in quantity and much better. There is lots of mud in lines and work is very similar to D.A.C. - taking up ammunition at night and we have further to go with it, but we are better situated in a larger village and more congenial surroundings. The Nos. I and small gun crew stay with guns while Capt. B.S.M. and men carry on here much as in battery at Witley.

Parades for cleaning harness & grooming etc. Was a pay parade. Fellows got 30 francs. Pitcher & I will be getting more than the others next time. Was on stable picket but fortunately got first shift 6:00 p.m. - 10 p.m. so lost no sleep. Was only on for night. There is a different day picket. The fellows had been going up every night with ammunition but neither last night nor tonight had to go up. Piling up big reserve of shells at guns for big push.
