Mrs George Gale,
Youngs Cove, N.B.

Dear Mrs Gale:

Please allow me, through this medium, to express to you and your family my sincere sympathy, in this your hour of sad bereavement.

It was with a profound sorrow that I was filled with, on hearing the announcement by the Rev. Mr Gillis, of the death of Dear Ralph. I knew Ralph. It was my great privilege to have him as my companion and sincere friend some few years ago. It [was] while having him as my close associate then, that I learned of his many sterling qualities.

These he was well filled with and while we here mourn his presence, “Somewhere” a great vacant spot is filled.

The life he lived, I am sure was a sample for any young man, who prized high ideals and honor. Cheer up Dear Friend. While he has left you now, rest assured it is only for a short time, and then we shall all go, to be with those who have gone before.

I intend to be in Youngs Cove for a few days the end of this week, and I shall make it a point to call and see you.

Hoping you are all in good health,

I remain,
Very Respectfully Yours
[Rondale?] Purdy
