My dear Louise and Beau

I must write a few words to tell you of my sympathy with you all in your terrible loss, Mary and I sit and talk of you and wonder how you are going to bear it for well we know how dear he was to you his name has been on your lips. We have all felt so much for you nonetheless we are proud of the death he died what is nobler than to lay down ones life for King and Country a heroes death. And you have another consolation the fact of his having “worn the white flower of a heavenly life” from birth into Immortality few can have that sure comfort. Mary joins me in love and sympathy to you both and to the dear girls we know how they will grieve. What can I say more only take courage he is safe forever and tho “you sent him out with weeping and mourning God will give him back to you again with joy and gladness forever” –

Yours in love and sympathy
Joan C. Bullock
