My darling girl,

Your first letter just reached me this morning, also Frank's letter, & I guess it isnt your first letter anyway as it was dated 16th & you refer to your last letter in it, but anyway it is the first I have received & mighty glad I was to get it. I notice a vast improvement in Frank as a correspondent since he last used to write to us from Mold.

Well dearie I'm still holding down this job i/c working party, the last two days has [sic] been very cold & wet this might help to hamper Fritz in his advance. We get very little news here the papers we get are all 2 or 3 days old.

Am looking forward to hearing how you are settled down in Mold & all the news, you should have lots from there. You certainly size up the situation OK when you say it would have been a bitter disappointment for me not to have got over. I met Major Schnar (who used to be 2nd in Command of the Battalion when we were at East Saudling,) yesterday he has charge of Dental Clinic just about a mile from here, had quite a long chat with him.

I wrote a long letter to Jack yesterday, what do [you] know about that, I expect to catch up in my letter writing before long.

Love to all at the Cross fondest love to you & the chicks.

Your own loving,

Jim
