My Own Dear Mother,

I was so pleased to receive your letter yesterday, and to know you were all keeping so well. There was no need for you to worry about me getting after the German girls, they are certainly fine girls and treated us great. But I guess they are just as wise as their men are when they are taken prisoners. And Oh how we love a German Soldier. Well Mother Dear the latest rumour is that we leave for England the day after to-morrow. March 1st I sure hope we do. They keep promising but there is always something goes wrong. They are doing there best for us here. Picture shows, and concert parties from London try to amuse us in the camp here and we get no parades. They gave us a parade once with rifles and equipment, but we all went on parade with our coats on, booed the Sergents who came on dressed up to kill. They dismissed us and we have had no parades since. The war is over now, and that stuff goes against the grain. The third division is in England now and will leave for Canada soon and we the Corps Troops follow soon after. News is scarce. I had a letter from Queenie and they want me to go and stay there for the 8 days leave which we get in England. That is all just now Mother Dearest.

Best love to Dad and Eve, Uncle and Auntie.
And to your dear Self
Eddie.
