Dear Lilian:

Yours of Oct 27th and Nov 3rd received tonight. Some of my letters must have gone astray if you havent been hearing from me. There would be a little gap between the card of Sept 24th and the next, as it was on the 27th that we made the attack against Bourlon Wood and Cambrai the time King was killed.

I'm sending a little box by registered mail tomorrow, and hope it arrives alright. There is a little parcel in it to go home to Aunt Bessie. Please send it along and be careful as it is breakable. The scarf for Aunt Bessie and the collars for you are souvenirs of Mons. Im sending home a little pair of vases and doilies.

Posted Dad and Uncle George a copy of "The Message from Mars" our divisional book. It was got up before the war finished so isn't quite up to date. There are one or two cuts of our bunch and a good one of our brigade commander, Gen. MacBrian.

While I was in England last summer the battalion had some photos taken and lately I've been able to get a few. I'm going to send them to you to keep for me. Hove one each of B. Coy. Band, Sergeants and Officers.

We are still just outside Mons and will probably be here a day or two longer. I'm next on the leave list and hope to get away soon. Am undecided now whether to spend it in London or Scotland.

Merry Christmas to all.

Lovingly,

Reg.
