Last week's paper announced the death in action on June 28th of Lieut. Thomas Alexander Rowat, son of the Rev. Andrew Rowat and Mrs. Rowat, of St. Lambert. Lieut. Rowat, who was born at Winchester, Ont. in 1878, was educated at Huntingdon Academy and at McGill University. He was for a number of years at various branches of the Canadian Bank of Commerce in the Eastern Townships, and latterly had been business manager of a concern in the Cobalt region. He left Camp Bordon in November last with a Western Unit, and a few days after landing in England left for active service in France, where he had been without leave up till the time of his death. Besides his parents he leaves two brothers, Mr. Donald M. Rowat of notarial firm of W. deM. and H.M. Marler, Montreal; Mr. W.A. Rowat of Somerset, Man and four sisters. He was a grandson of the late Rev. Donald McKenzie, of Embro, Ont.
