Clifton Gardens,
FOLKESTONE,
Wed. Oct. 13th. 1915 (3-30 p.m.)

My Darling:

Just about ten lines before I leave for the boat to tell you that I love you. They have kept us in bondage for a whole week, but now we are off. The great iron gates will clang behind us on Folkestone Pier at four o’clock
this afternoon, and I suppose we shall be with the Battalion by to-morrow sometime.

Dear, Dear Fernie, I wish I could hold your hand in mine and kiss you Good-bye. My heart is with you always little sweetheart. Think of me often and pray for me in the dark night watches.

Yours forever in love,
ERROL.

Give my regards to Stanley and Et and anyone else who has been good to me. E.B.P.
