Dear Annie: –

I got a postcard & letter from Winnie at Kaslo, today.

I suppose long before this reaches you will have settled down to the new order of things.

Kaslo is a nice little place something like Nelson & she should like it all right. Those interior places are very expensive to live in.

I was very busy this afternoon, my weekly half-day off, washing five pairs of socks & four handkerchiefs. The handkerchiefs behaved all right but after I wrung the socks thoroughly & had them hanging up for three or four hours near a big fire I discovered they were still sopping wet & had to wring them some more. This is the first washing I have done for a long while

We are having dandy weather now, much warmer & not near so wet as this time last year.

How do you like your work? Are you still in the same place? How is Min getting on?

I am doing fine, work fourteen hours a day – seven days a week – it's bombproof to a certain extent though. Old Fritz made us hunt over "diggings" a few weeks ago.

I haven't got a letter from the East for months but I guess they are there yet. 

According to the papers I get every week, there must be a great change in Vancouver since last I saw it – two years ago. I am over eighteen months in France now.
