Letter From Captain Hodge

In a letter to the editor of the Campbellford Herald from Captain Hodge, written on September 12th he says:

Private Harry Williams of Campbellford, who was badly wounded, passed away and was buried in the second Battalion plot. Capt. A. Hughill had a firing party from No.4 Company. The body was carried from the ambulance to the cemetery wrapped in the Union Jack, a large number of associates from the battalion following. Lt-Col. Swift, 2nd Batt., the Commanding Officer of the field ambulance and many other officers were present.
