August 10th, 1920.
To Volunteer Hospital Probationers, V.A.D. Nursing Members, who served under the Joint War Committee, Women’s V.A.D. Department, in Naval and Military Hospitals in England.
The attached letter dated the 27th July, 1920, and Ruling have been received from the Assistant Director Par Services (Demobilization), Department Militia & Defence, Ottawa, and I have very much pleasure in handing them to you. I am also enclosing a copy of form M.F.W. 2636, War Service Gratuity (Imperial) which should be properly filled in and returned to the Assistant Director Pay Services (Demobilization) at the earliest possible date.
Should your service while overseas not have entitled you to Gratuity from the Imperial Government, you will not be entitled to receive Gratuity under Ruling given under provisions of P.C. 2389, of 1919.
I shall be very glad to learn the result of your application.
Yours very truly,
Assistant Commissioner.
